On 2nd April 2019 the UK Law Societies’ Joint Brussels Office and STEP will be holding a half-day seminar at the Brussels offices of Loyens & Loeff on the possible impact of brexit on international private clients. Panellists and guest speakers will include prominent practitioners from the UK, Brussels and other EU jurisdictions. The seminar will last from 1pm to 6pm and a light lunch will be provided.
Panel Discussion - Ensuring Privacy and Security in Europe: What are the challenges in an internet age? 26 February 2019
The UK Law Societies joint Brussels office and the Centre for European Policy Studies present a panel discussion on the regulatory framework for the lawful processing of data by security and intelligence agencies. The discussion will encompass key questions on how our data is stored and accessed by state agencies, how widely data can and should be used as well as discussing the surrounding legal and ethical issues.
This event, held as part of the ESRC “UK in a changing Europe” project “Health law outside the EU: Immediate, Intermediate and Long-term Impacts” will examine the state of play in relation to the impact of Brexit on the law and regulation of the NHS and health care delivery post Brexit.

To mark Human Rights Week, our office, Bingham Centre for Rule of Law and Flinn Law held an event to discuss EU citizens in the UK, data privacy and the protection of personal data and dispute resolution after Brexit from the perspective of the Rule of Law.
