The Law Society of England and Wales has prepared a practice note to help you decide whether you or your firm should register on the EU Transparency Register.

The European Commission and European Parliament have established a framework for their relations with interest representatives and lobbyists.

The framework includes a voluntary Transparency Register and Code of Conduct for the Register, which is binding on registrants. In certain circumstances, lawyers and law firms need to register on the Transparency Register.

The Law Society of England and Wales has therefore prepared a practice note to help solicitors, solicitors’ firms, legal consultants and in-house lawyers, whose activities bring them into contact with the European institutions, decide whether they should do so.
