Commission has published roadmap on the evaluation of the two Block Exemption Regulations (BERs) for horizontal co-operation agreements. It intends to gather evidence on how the BERs function in order to decide whether it should let them elapse, prolong their duration or revise them in order to take proper account of new market developments since their adoption in 2010. The current BERs will expire on 31 December 2022.

To this end, the Commission is planning to launch a public consultation of 12 weeks in Q4 of 2019. In addition, in Q2 of 2020 it will hold a workshop with representatives from all main stakeholder groups on areas of particular interest for the review of the two BERs.
