People bereaved and injured in the Finsbury Park Mosque attack in London on Sunday night will be offered free legal advice through the panel of solicitor firms convened by the Law Society of England and Wales in the wake of the London Bridge attack just two weeks ago.

Law Society president Robert Bourns said: “The people caught up in this awful attack will be dealing with enormous personal distress, as are victims of the other recent terrorist attacks.

“We hope free legal advice will assist victims to deal with unforeseen and sometimes complex legal issues that will arise in the weeks and months to come as a result of these dreadful events.

“The panel will operate on a referral basis so the process is as easy as possible for victims. We are working with the relevant agencies in London to this end.”

Protocols will ensure a consistent, high quality of relevant pro bono legal advice is given to all who use the panel.

Free legal advice from London law firms will be available through the panel - on a referral basis only - to those needing legal advice as a result of any of the three recent terror attacks in London: Westminster Bridge and at the Houses of Parliament; London Bridge and Borough Market; or near Finsbury Park Mosque.

Advice for victims of the Manchester Arena attack is available through a panel set up by the Manchester Law Society.
