On 22 June, the Law Society of Scotland submitted a response to the House of Commons’ International Trade committee inquiry into UK Trade Policy Transparency and Scrutiny. 

In it, they suggested that the UK takes a similar approach to the European Commission and the changes it has recently implemented to increase transparency around trade relations.  They also proposed that the devolved legislatures and administrations play a more formal role in negotiating international trade treaties.
