September marks an additional appointment of Gerhard Hesse as judge to the General Court of the European Union. The appointment was made as part of the third and final phase of the reform of the General Court, which will bring the number of judges to two per member state. There will be nine additional judges expected to join the General Court in this phase of reform.
Amongst three other judges Hesse has been appointed for three years as apart of the reform of the General Court.
