An exciting day, with a good turnout of attendees across the whole reception. The reception pertained an insightful agenda which focused on Brexit with the aim to hear from various key representatives. This enable an open discussion on what would be the shape of the future negotiations and further discussion about engagement with the other European bars and other work on legal services and civil justice.
There was a short synopsis on the Scottish Court sessions appeal on prorogation and a discussion on the principle with highlights on how the case illustrate that the UK Rule of Law was still functioning, and the constitutional balances existed.
The reception was a positive, successful day and the Law Society look forward to more insightful, proactive engagements.
